Sports

Sports shape a child’s body, character and spirit as much as classrooms shape the mind. Our sports room is the base of the school’s physical education programme, a well-organised space where equipment is stored, maintained and issued so that every student can take part in games and fitness activities.

The room is stocked with equipment for a wide range of activities, including equipment, e.g. cricket bats and balls, footballs, volleyballs, basketballs, badminton rackets and shuttlecocks, table tennis set, skipping ropes, hurdles, javelins, shot puts, discs, cones and a first-aid kit. Items are checked regularly and replaced when needed, so that students always play with safe and usable gear.

Under the guidance of our physical education teacher, students take part in regular PE periods covering athletics, team games, indoor games, yoga and fitness exercises. Younger children begin with fun movement activities that build balance, coordination and confidence, while older students receive training in specific games and are encouraged to represent the school in inter-house and inter-school tournaments.

Sports at Presidency Public School are also about values. On the field, students learn teamwork, discipline, fair play, leadership and the grace to accept both victory and defeat. Annual Sports Day, house competitions and the daily practice sessions keep the whole school active and enthusiastic. Regular exercise and yoga also improve concentration, health and stamina, which helps students in their studies as well.
